Summer Registration 2022

CRBA Family

Summer registration is now open for MOST grade levels – (NOTE: we are looking for help at boys 9/10/11 grade level for the summer before we can commit to opening registration. Please reach out to the league if you can help with coordination at this grade level for the summer – crbahoops@gmail.com )

A link for registration can be found at our website – https://councilrockbasketballassociation.com/

As always, our programs are ONLY open to residents in the Council Rock School District (CRSD).  Do not register your son/daughter for this program if you do not reside in CRSD or the registration will be canceled, and your registration fee will be refunded minus a processing fee.  Registration is on a first come basis and will close as each group reaches in maximum. Registration will not be refunded should your child decide not to participate.

All games will be outside. The Summer league is targeted to run from mid-June through Early August with games on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and/or Friday nights – expected game times are: 5:15; 6:20; 7:25 and 8:30. The nights on which this group will play have not yet been determined and will depend on number of teams.
There will be no practices.  While we are targeting 2 games/week over 8 weeks, due to weather related cancellations this could be significantly impacted.

Because games will not be played on set nights, we cannot honor “exclusion night” requests.

Thank you for your support

Welcome to CRBA’s 2019 Summer league

Good morning CRBA families,

Welcome to CRBA’s 2019 summer league. Teams for the summer program are now being formed, and you should hear from you son or daughter’s summer league coach by the end of this week. If you have not heard from a coach by this Friday (6/21), please contact the appropriate grade level coordinator (for your child’s current grade) listed below. But please hold off on contacting the coordinator or the league until Friday, as this is a very week for us.

Just a reminder, summer league play begins on Monday June 24 and runs through Thursday August 8. There will be no games on Thursday July 4. Once the teams are formed, the schedule for each group will be distributed. In the meantime, where each group will be playing and the nights when they will play is attached.

All games are outside and are, therefore, weather dependent. Please be patient and flexible during the season. We will do everything we can to get as many games in as possible. That means that we often wait until the last minute possible to make a call on whether to cancel games because of weather.

Many thanks to the parents listed below who have volunteered to be the grade level coordinators for each group. Without them giving up their time to do so, the spring league would not be possible.

Summer League Registration

CRBA Summer League Registration Open

Hello CRBA Parents,

If you are interested in CRBA summer league, please read this email in its entirety.

Registration for our summer league programs is now open. The summer league season will likely run from the week of June 24 until the week of August 5th. The games will be during the week, any day from Monday-Thursday, typically with one or two games per week, weather provided. Games will be outside on the courts at the Northampton Civic Center or the Northampton Municipal Park. There are no practices.

Like last year, we plan to have two girls’ programs this summer: one for girls currently in 4th and 5th grade; and one for girls currently in grades 6-8. Girls can now be registered for those programs using
the following link: https://active.leagueone.com/Olr/Pages/Welcome.aspx?ClubId=14863. (An invitation code is not needed to register for the girls’ programs.)

Registration is also open for boys currently playing in one of our programs in grades 3-10 at the following link: https://active.leagueone.com/Olr/Pages/Welcome.aspx?ClubId=14863. Please be advised that for the boys’ programs you will need an “invitation code”, which is grade-level program specific. You can get that “invitation code” from your son’s current coach or the coordinator for his grade level, listed below. Please do not email the league (crbahoops@gmail.com) looking for an invitation code.

We are using the invitation code for the first two weeks of registration to give our current players a chance to sign up for summer league before opening up registration to the general public. Space in the summer league is extremely limited based on court availability. Registration is first come, first serve.
Once a group fills up (and our summer programs almost always sell out), registration will close for that group. In any case, registration will likely close on June 10 assuming the group has not filled up before then.

There is detailed information on the registration page for each page regarding when the season will start, when it will end, and on what nights during the week the group will play its games. Please read this information carefully before registering your child.

All CRBA programs are ONLY open to children who reside in the Council Rock School District (CRSD). Do not register your son for this program if you do not reside in CRSD, or the registration will be canceled and your registration fee will be refunded minus a processing fee.

Many thanks to the parents listed below who have volunteered to be the grade level coordinators for each group. Without them giving up their time to do so, the spring league would not be possible.

5 Ways to Have the Best Season Ever

Five Ways to Have the Best Season Ever

  1. Respect the gyms upon arrival, during and after the games.  Remove all trash and bring your own chairs.
  2. ALWAYS Respect our Officials.  The Referees are helping your children learn the game of basketball.  Trust their judgement.  There is a zero tolerance for countering a call or disrespecting our officials.
  3. ALWAYS cheer for your children and their teammates.  There is no need to instruct from the sidelines.  Yelling directions to your children is confusing.  Offer to help your coach at practice or volunteer to coach.
  4. Give your child love and support.  It’s so easy to get caught up in making sure they do everything right or that they always win – the game, or scrimmage or contest. This is definitely the wrong approach to take. We have to remember as parents that our children are participating in youth basketball to have fun, to be with their friends and to compete.
  5. Let your child dribble, pass and practice footwork whenever possible.  Youth basketball parents should remember to encourage their child to practice, join them as often as you can – but never force them. They will determine how often they want to practice.  “Practice makes Perfect”

Enjoy!
